Got to the arena and did a mile on the track with a couple little strides. Warmed up another mile and a half with more strides. Gun went off and I settled into second position but let too many people go by the first 800. Didn't realize my pace was too slow until it was too late. Took the lead and tried to make up the lost time but it just wasn't going to happen. Kinda ticked at myself because I ran faster during xc practice but oh well, sub 9:20 is coming. I was the third qualifier for finals but I have sweethearts dance on Saturday so I can't race. Cool down to a canyon, found some sick trails but of course they were too muddy so I went back on the road. Still wanted to do three in the canyon so the cool down ended up being a little over 7, 7:10 average pace. Cool scenery but lots of hills, I am exhausted.
