I&#39;m trying something different for xc season so we&#39;ll see how it goes. I&#39;m on break this week then I&#39;m biking to Oklahoma starting June 1 so my running will be limited for 2 weeks. I&#39;ll start actually training for cross right after that, it&#39;s gonna be lit.</p> <p>Got up early and biked to the canyon. Went up the the gate where alpine loop is closed until the summer. It was amazing except my hands and feet almost fell off, glad I wore a jacket. Don&#39;t know how far or what pace&nbsp;cuz I didn&#39;t track it but I went for almost 3 hours so at least 35 miles. Going scootering with Mo later.</p> <p>Hope you all have sick xc seasons or missions or marathons or race walks or whatever you&#39;re doing. Led for 7 laps, took 4th, 9:08. Had to end off the season right so I went to the indoor track and did 5X3 min hard with 2 min distance pace in between. Went on a quality hike with Mo after up Provo canyon&nbsp;</p> Sat, 20 May 2017 06:00:00 Fri, May 19, 2017 <p>Warmup with Justin, indoor track. Gun went off and I got out horrible so I had to move up in lane 2 and 3 for the first 800, around 2:10&nbsp;so a little&nbsp;slow. The leaders went 60-61 the third lap and that was hard for me to match, went 62 and then 62. Fought hard but I just don&#39;t have the mile speed right now to contend with the leaders. Got 6th in 5A and 10th overall, time was a 4:15. I&#39;m happy about it cuz I placed and broke our school record but I would&#39;ve liked a 4:12 or 4:13. Cooled down 4 miles really easy with Lil Nug, that was nice.</p> <p>4 mile easy bike ride with my mom to loosen up the legs. Did pit loop and cemetery grass loop. 2 strides mixed in one trying see how high mph we could get on the police radar and then one racing Luke to the wheel. No watch, got 5. Didn&#39;t wear a watch today but Luke did so we got 6. Legs felt flat so I did 2 quick 200s to get them going. Hit 25 high and 26 high. Went to west canyon but we didn&#39;t get to the best part cuz we started from the road turnoff not the trail turnoff. Really fun run, had some good convos. 7 flat average, I was feeling really good so the last 400 I left Brecken and ran a 60. Oops. Did bonneville shoreline, started together but didn&#39;t run together. Went on the canal trail.&nbsp;Saw some geese, one of them spread its wings and hissed at me so I did a quick stride to get outa there. 2 mile warmup for the medley. Got the baton in 4th and pushed. Zack passed me and I kinda went with him, ended up passing 2 guys in the last 100 to get third. Distance run, started with Luke and Brecken but they weren&#39;t feeling good today so I ended up running most of it by myself. Did Highland elementary loop, 6.5 miles, 6:30 average. 4X200 after, full recovery in between each. Went 27, 26 high, 27, 26 high. Felt good to get some speed. Despite my 800 times this year my legs actually can move believe it or not. Mile cool down to finish up. Got out ok but kept it conservative for the first mile, around 4:35. Kept moving up each lap until I was in the top group chasing Casey. He came back to us so there was about 7 of us with a lap to go. Realized I could get it so I went for it with about 200 to go. Barely pulled it off, don&#39;t know how but I feel so blessed. Cool down with a huge group to the Provo river trail, iced in the river. Then me, Gill, Collin, and Chuck finished, hit up lovers lane trail it was awesome. Went on the Porter Rockwell trail then hit up some of the corner canyon trails, it was sick. 6.5 miles, 7:30 avg pace.</p> <p>Ran some more at 6. Went on the trail again but this time I noticed the huge wooden T-Rex in someone&#39;s back yard holding a sign that said hang in there! I was just on a distance run but thanks anyway Dino. Splits were 45, 45, 44, 44, 45. Stomach felt awful all day but to my knowledge I didn&#39;t eat any gluten so I don&#39;t know what&#39;s wrong with me. Kinda sketch cuz there&#39;s food wrapppers in there. Way back was a little faster, 8:50 average. Did another mile then 3.5 mile tempo at 5:13 average pace then 4 hill strides up the overpass with jog back down in between. Finished mileage, 5:50 average for 7 miles. Overdressed today, the weather is so unpredictable. Started at the Murdock canal trailhead past the temple. Only had time to do 5 miles cuz me and Brecken&nbsp;had to get back to coach track for the smaller kids. Climbed at least 300 ft, 7:25 avg pace.</p> <p>4 at night, 6:25 avg. Did farms plus 2100 loop. Stomach did not feel good at all today but I was able to get through this run without any problems&nbsp;</p> Mon, 24 Apr 2017 06:00:00 Sat, Apr 22, 2017 <p>Reffed 3 soccer games.</p> <p>Biked a marathon with my mom, did Pony Express.</p> <p>Mile warmup. 16 mile progression run out past Rockwell high, really like this route and it has some good hills. Splits were 7:08, 6:51, 6:49, 6:44, 6:35, 6:26, 6:16, 6:08, 6:01, 5:51, 5:39, 5:34, 5:27, 5:27, 5:20, 5:16. Stomach didn&#39;t get bad until about 4 miles to go so that was great. Pace felt&nbsp;really good until the last 2 miles, those ones made me work. Happy with this effort after yesterday. Coach said this is my last hard week of the season so I thought I&#39;d make it count. Farthest I&#39;ve ever ran at one time. Good day of training and I don&#39;t feel totally dead so I&#39;m excited about where I&#39;m at right now. Also it&#39;s a good time to retire my triumphs.</p> Sat, 22 Apr 2017 06:00:00
