3 mile warmup. Raced park city as a fast tempo. First mile was slow but picked it up after that. Felt really comfortable. Team took first! Right calf/Achilles felt really tight during 2 mile cool down hopefully be good to go for next week.

4 easy miles in the morning, 1 mile barefoot. Calf and Achilles are still hurting so I did most of it on the grass

 

Another 4 grass miles with one barefoot in the afternoon. 7:25 average pace. First time running in Altras and they feel good.

1 mile warmup on the turf. 12X400m, 1st 4 at 5K pace, next 4 at 2 mile pace, last 4 at mile pace. 76, 74, 74, 76, then 70, 71, 71, 71, and 65, 65, 65, with last one all out which was a 58 (400 PR!) Really consistent and on-pace workout. Cooled down but Achilles started hurting so I cut it a mile short and biked 10 min.

Talked to coach about my calf and Achilles problems and she told me to run half of medium mileage and finish on the bike. Warmed up, did 2 miles of speed changes, ran a lil more then hit the bikes for 30 min.

1 mile warmup. Started off fast but not too fast. Moved well and fought to get up and stay with Connor. Goals were top 5 and 15:30 so overall happy about my performance. Team got 3rd behind Lone Peak and American Fork so now we're looking forward to state on the 21st

Distance run at 7:15 pace with some strides after. Went on an amazing horseback ride up AF canyon somewhere. Shout out to my mom cuz she gave birth to me 16 years ago.

9 miles at 7:20 average pace. Started off with the guys but separated cuz they were messing around and going 7:50. So ran most of it alone but it was a good run. Went up killers then turned around and went to wines to run a barefoot mile before heading back.

1.5 mile warmup. Whistle hills on airport. 3 sets of 15, 20, 25 sec. with recovery jog back to start. Pushed hard and felt good. Last 2 were a struggle and form fell off a little bit but I still stayed up there. Good workout. Cooled down to Jamie's then back to the school to do a barefoot mile on the turf.

Distance run with Kobe at 6:50 pace. Went up towards Freedom and we were feeling good on the way back so we threw in a couple 6:30s. Barefoot mile after and some strides. Then went on a bike ride. Took it pretty easy. Went to the Murdock Canal Trail and took that to PG. Turned around and came back through AF. Ended up being 30 miles.

Biked 3 miles to the high school. Warmed up to the Hinkleys to get Michael and Austin then finished up miles. 7.5 miles at 7:20 pace. Went back to the Hinkleys after for abs, French toast, ping pong, and this other game idk what it's called but it was a party and me and Austin won so that was sick. Had some raspberries from their garden too they were glorious. Biked home after that, 7.5 on the bike today.

Biked to practice. 1 mile warmup, 2 miles speed changes on the turf, 1 barefoot mile, finished up mileage. Talked about state on Wednesday and our goal going in. Then went to the Heaps house for waffles and tramp basketball. Played some pig but I got out both times haha I'll stick to running. Biked 4 miles to home in the rain. Hit 34 mph on the odometer down airport so that was a blast.

Went to the Provo Temple for the first time. Went with Thom, Collin, Riley, and Madi. Saw McKay there too.

Stationery bike at Thom's house to loosen up the legs a little (around 11 o'clock). Got to the course, cheered on Guppy she killed it. 1.5 mile warmup and some stretches. I was super nervous off and on throughout the day and at the gun. Got out in a good position with Connor and cruised. Felt great until around the last mile when Connor pulled away and I started to fatigue. Struggled to stay up there the last mile and managed to pass a couple people. Felt drained a lot earlier than I should have but wasn't a bad race. We took second behind Davis!! Super pumped about that and considering how hard and long we've trained, we deserve it. We had our ups and downs this season but we came through when it mattered. Now we've just gotta maintain to NXR and get the job done there.

Coach said no running today so no running today. Went biking with the Hinkleys on the Murdock Canal Trail. Felt awesome so me and Austin hauled. Ended up being about 25 miles. Would've liked to go farther but that's ok it was a fun ride.

Didn't run today cuz my glutes and hampstrings are wrecked. Rolling hurts, sitting down hurts, stretching hurts, everything hurts. I think it might be because of the jump lunges I did yesterday but we didn't even do that many. Anyway, I just biked about 5 miles and did  an upper body workout

2 mile warmup. 4 mile progressive run with a mile on the track, mile out and back, and another on the track. Splits were 6:00, 5:50, 5:35, 4:50 on the watch. Ended up getting about 4.1 miles so coach said 5:05 when I finished but I had to run on the outside so I hit the mile earlier. Felt really strong. The first 2 miles were easy so I turned it up after that. 2.5 mile cool down, 5 min. on the bike, and the dirty 30 for abs.

Easy 7 at 7:15. Turned back with Michael and we had a good talk. Got back, did abs then went to Thom's for a protein shake and power ball. Went to Collin's later to watch Without Limits about Steve Prefontaine. Pretty inspirational and got me pumped. After we talked about what's going on next year with the new school opening. We're trying to decide what's best for everyone but it's pretty complicated. It's all going to turn out alright tho

One of my favorite runs of all time. Did some exploring and went on some new trails off the ole Jordan River trail and around some marshes. I have to admit I got freaked out by a bird on the side of the trail, it must be Halloween or something. On the way back, this kid on a motor scooter started gaining, so I kinda raced him. Idk if he was racing but if he was I won haha. Life changing run. Weather was awesome, 6:50 average pace felt good and consistent, loved it.
